January...Man it's HOT!

Today, as a zone, we went to la ferria in the center of Leon. We went in normal clothes, and I took a great advantage of shorts and a short sleeve shirt! I got a tad bit sun burnt. I know it must be a little hard to hear of such great weather here while its snowing ice up in Utah, but I guess that's one of the many blessings of serving a mission, haha!

Last Wednesday, we had the world wide missionary broadcast, and it brought a bunch of changes. They made big changes in the daily schedule and the numbers that we'll be reporting. It gives us even more time to be out proselyting, which gives us even more agency to be obedient and choose the right. I'm super pumped, 'cuz we gained 30 min extra in the night to be able to go to bed earlier if we want. Tomorrow, we have a conference with president about new changes, and how we'll be adjusting to it all, it'll be great!

My district is doing well, working hard. Two companionships have sons, or missionaries who just barely arrived to the mission field, so they'

re busy training them. Things are going well.

I wish you all a great week!

Busy, Busy, Busy

This week literally flew by! We've been traveling more to help the other missionaries and coordinate. Its been cool this week, 'cuz I can see the progress of the whole district, and help them more.

Tons of things happened this week, but the best part is that Elder Hernandez, Romero, and I get along very well, yep, I'm in a trio for a fourth time!

This new week will be extra busy, 'cuz we have the worldwide broadcast for missionaries, and who knows what else will happen this week. I just hope I can learn and do all that I need to in the little time that there is. Everything is going quite well!

One thing I continue to learn is the importance of our testimonies. I worry a little that in my district, there isn't TONS of motivation, but more of a ''well I'm here 'cuz there are rules and numbers I need.'' When we have a testimony super big, that's when all of us are super pumped and motivated to work hard and do whatever is necessary. It's important we always nourish our testimonies from three things most important, pray, study, and attend church!

Have a fantastic week! And tune into the Missionary Broadcast on Wednesday at 10 if you'd like!

Elder Russon

They Called Me As District Leader!

Wowzers, we had changes! I'm in Leon as District Leader with Elder Hernandez, who is from Mexico City, and just finished his training, he has 3 months. He's from the same generacion as Elder Macias, and he's a great missionary from all I've seen so far. He was actually companions with Elder Macias in the CCM for 3 weeks.

I felt a ton of pressure last night when they told us the changes. Im gonna be even way more busy, focusing on helping the other missionaries.

My companion Elder Macias is going to stay in Cortazar, and he's gonna finish the training of Elder Lundberg. He's nervous, but I know he's gonna do great! We've both thoroughly enjoyed our 2 changes together as companions, and I consider him a best friend.

This new change I want to work real hard, and progress even more as a missionary. I can't believe how much time I have and how fast it's passing. There are still so many more adventures ahead!

I'll let y'all know how this huge week goes, until next time!

Love,

Elder Russon

Finding the Prepared to Teach

We had a nice week, and now were entering into the last week of the change, again! I'm quite positive Ill be going to another area, I have almost 7 months here!

Right now, were teaching Jose, who lives alone, speaks a little English, and is intelligent. Two visits ago, we gave him the BOM and we talked a lot about it this last visit with the plan of salvation.

He's starting to really see the need and importance of the BOM. That they both testify of Christ and His doctrine, and that they complete each other. Its so great to find people like him to teach. He has tons of great questions, and a constant intrigue of what we teach him. The best is that the spirit always helps us to answer well, each one of his questions.

I'm so grateful that I have 3-4 hours in the mornings to study the pure doctrine of Christ. studying the gospel is so important! I hope you all have a great week this week, and well catch ya next time!

Elder Russon

Happy New Year!

2016 has been a great year, and I'm excited for 2017, to be able to be a full-time missionary for the whole year! I don't really feel a grand change from 2016 to 2017, but Ill make it a great year!

Yesterday in church, after sacrament meeting, we watched the first vision as a ward. We all felt the spirit, and it was great to reaffirm the testimony of the members. As I watched, it reminded me of why we are all here, as members, missionaries, leaders, etc. And its all because a 14 year old boy decided to pray. How much more important it is that we pray and seek for guidance from the Holy Ghost.

This week we also found a new investigator from contacting in the street, he speaks English, and his name is Jose Enrique. He wants to learn more about God and the bible. He was very intrigued and excited to listen to us. Its awesome to find people who are ready to listen to us, and who actually want to listen to us. I'm excited to find more like him.

Have a great week and year!!!

Elder Russon
