The Best Two Years!!!

This past two years have passed incredibly fast. I can honestly say they've been the best two years of my life up to this point in my life and for that I am eternally gratefully. The mission has taught me so many things and I can see a much better course for my life had I not taken the decision to serve a mission. I'm so grateful for both the hard and fun times I've had and all the people I've come to known. Truly this is God's work and glory and we're all brothers and sisters of one big family all trying to return to God's presence.

I know with all my heart that this is Christ's church upon the earth which has been restored to the fullness through the prophet Joseph Smith. We are led by a modern prophet, Russel M Nelson, who holds all the keys of the priesthood which is God's power here on earth. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and He leads it.

I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is what helps us get back on our feet after we fall down, time after time and through it, we can help many other people as well.

I love the mission and all the experiences I've had here. Can't believe I'll be home in one week, and now I'm starting the next one! We'll see y'all soon and hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,

Elder Russon

We planned the noche blanca!

So we met with a few missionaries to plan for the noche blanca and it looks like we'll have between 22-24 baptisms that night in one chapel along with several others in different areas of the mission. I'm excited, it'll be my last weekend here. Alvaro and Silvia are preparing well for their baptism, they've already come 4 times to church and know several of the members.

We also get a lot of support from the ward and the members. It's one of the biggest and strongest wards in the mission. We also went to ward counsel the first time this week and they were very atent with us and wrote down a task list of things we asked them for help.

Things are going very well, and I'm excited to see y'all in 2 weeks! It sure has been the best 2 years of my life!

Travel Week

On Tuesday we went to Irapuato and later Leon to do some divisions with the Elders. In the whole week we did 5, but it was nice and I feel like we were able to help the missionaries be more motivated to work and enjoy the mission. The week FLEW by, but we got a lot of things done.

I was also very happy because on Sunday we brought 7 of our investigators to church, and it turned out very well. Alvaro and Silvia had some struggles this week, rather strong in their marriage, but we visited and talked with them trying to help out and have them place their faith in God. We passed by Sunday morning to remind both of them to come to church and Silvia flat out told us she wasnt going to go, and she was washing clothes. But Alvaro was firm on coming and arrived 20 minutes early. After we left their house, I did a simple prayer in my heart asking God to help her come to church. At 12:30 she miraculously came to church exercising her great faith by coming, it was super awesome!

Things are going well, love you all and hope all is well, have a great week!

La Famila May Magaña vino a la capilla!

Hola! Que tal amigos!

This week went pretty well, we were busy looking for new investigators from several previous contacts we had done, but they weren't home or didn't answer. We also used the members list looking for people and I'm pretty sure all of them were abandoned houses, hijole!

But, nevertheless, Alvaro and Silvia came to church for their second time and are very firm on being baptized March 17th! for the noche blanca, woojoo! Things are going well and I'm enjoying the last little time I've got here in the Lords vineyard, it's wonderful!

Have a great week!

It's Always Time to Work!

This week went well. Lately we've been finding several new investigators as well as leaving some who aren't progressing. We're basically filtering them to find those that are prepared to be baptized. And we have 3 different families who seem to be progressing well and could be baptized before I leave, hopefully, 10 in total. We're doing our part, and always hope for the best!

As a mission, we're all getting pretty excited for the Noche Blanca, or white night, which will be in March 2018, the last week of the transfer! Hopefully we can baptize a hundred in the entire month! We just keep on moving along and working hard!

Have a fantastic week!

Great Week!

Just a little over a week ago we found a family, Alvaro, Silvia and Oscar. We taught them the gospel of Jesus Christ inviting them to baptism at the end and they accepted for March 17th, my last week in the mission. It'll also be a Noche Blanca for the entire mission, attached is a flyer of how it will be.

The family came to church yesterday. We went with them in a taxi arriving 30 minutes early and still left for another family. But everything turned out great with them in church. You could feel the spirit so strong and they are deeply committed to being baptized. They shared their personal experiences in the classes and said hi to everyone. It's great because we have several great members in the ward who came to greet them and be friends.

Just being able to be a part of all of that makes me sooo happy. It's the purpose of life and I hope we can all continue in this great work together. I love you all and hope all goes great this week!!!

The Best Two Years!

Well, today I start the beginning of my last change on the mission. It'll be 7 weeks instead of 6 and it'll be great! I'm super happy and content with all that's happening and I'm just focused on baptizing. Our mission baptized 26 last weekend which is a lot, and we're all aiming for the goal of 100 baptisms in one month, every month! (We had 40 this last month, the most was 76.)

Truly all that matters in life is that we live the gospel of Jesus Christ and help others to live it as well. The world is a big place and Satan is always working hard to trip us. Just like this photo all we can do is pick up and carry on. And that's only possible by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's amazing and this is His church. I know that because the Book of Mormon is true.

Love y'all a ton and wish you a great week!

Happy Days!

Happy days!

Things are going very well, and once again, this transfer is almost over, just 2 more weeks, and then my last transfer, crazy how time flies. But, I’m enjoying the mission a lot and I’m still learning new things that’ll help me for the rest of my life. The mission just prepares you so much.

This past week I was able to notice a little more potential from the investigators we have that we are teaching. They’re a little slow in accepting commitments, but we’re working with them so they can at least come to church. We’re excited to help them progress along.

We were lucky to see President Monson’s funeral live. I really liked the talks they gave, and I fully support all the church leaders. I especially loved to see the quorum of the 12 with President Eyring and Uchtdorf all standing together when President Monson left the conference center at the end. He was a great man, very good leader. I know this is the Church of Jesus Christ.

Elder Russon

New Year!!!

When the time goes fast, all we can do is what really matters most. Honestly the time is moving really quickly, but I'm enjoying it all. We're helping the mission out a lot, but we're a little worried about our area. We have about 15 investigators we're teaching, but none are really progressing well. But we're focused on that, and a miracle will come to pass.

Our mission president is inviting all of us to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish in 3 months, marking it in 4 different colors of crayons that have to do with Jesus Christ. If I want to finish it before I come back home, which I do, I have to read 18 pages a day! I'll get it done.

The mission is so wonderful, and I feel content and happy, life is great!

Elder Russon
