Getting to Work!

Well I don't have much to say either then, wow...this week flew by! We did divisions with the assistants, and it went very well. I went with Elder Pivaral to his area and he taught me something cool and simple. He told me, "Don't fear, because that is against the Faith." That was something I needed to hear, and it's some great and simple advice for everyone!

My companion and I are working well, I can tell you it sure is hard sometimes, especially when there is absolutely no one who is home or that wants to listen to us. But it's okay, we're ready as God's servants for those who want to learn about God and the gospel of Jesus Christ!

This Saturday, we're going to have something called a 'Noche Blanca!' Its where a bunch of missionaries get together to have several baptisms together. So, all the missionaries from Queretaro are going, 3 stakes, and about 64 missionaries. There will be about 35 to 40 baptisms! We as the Zone Leaders are going to be working extra hard to get investigators ready and find more for the Noche Blanca! Its going to be huge and awesome!!!

Who knows what kind of trials you are going through in your life right now, but one piece of advice is WORK! Satan uses against us to be lazy, which is one of his greatest tools, but we didn't come to this earth to just sit at home, "Hay que trabajar!" We've all gotta work! I hope you all have a great week!

Elder Russon

A Miracle Baptism

On Wednesday, our investigator Ana called me and said something urgent happened, and wanted us to come over. We got to her house, and she immediately began crying as she told us that her boyfriend she was living with took all his stuff, left a note, and left for Mexico City in the morning. She was really sad, but my companion Elder Ledesma started comforting and teaching her about Jesus Christ.

After he spoke, the thought of Baptism was just running into my head, and I told her that. She said she was thinking a lot about that too. So I simply invited her to be baptized, and she was thrilled saying, 'Sure! Whenever, what day?' So that was an awesome experience. On Friday, she had her baptismal interview, and on Thursday she was baptized by the first Elder that she met, Elder Ramirez. Then the Bishop confirmed her on Sunday, so that was super awesome! A Miracle Baptism!

Yesterday, I had a pretty cool experience translating all of sacrament meeting to English for a guy from Utah who is traveling for work (Honda.) As I translated for the Patriarch, he shared the story of when Jesus Christ was talking with Peter, 'Peter, do you love me?' And he responded, 'Lord, thou knowest that I love you.' As I translated that whole story, I felt the spirit so strong, I felt it run directly through me as I testified of it, super cool experience.

This week has gone well, rather fast, packed with several different things going on. Something I'm seeing more is that the miracles come more often when we strive to contact, which is when we are showing our faith to God that we want to find and teach His children, and we want to do His will. That is when He blesses us. I KNOW this is the Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth, and I hope you all have a Great week!

One Year!

I now have one entire year on the mission!!! Last Thursday, as I was on divisions with Elder Sierra from New York City, I celebrated the year with some treats in the night. It wasn’t a big deal, but it was enough to be content with all I’ve done in one year! My son, Elder Macias, also got permission to congratulate me that same day, super awesome!

As far as it goes here in the area, we finally have an investigator with a baptismal date!!! Her name is Juana-Angela, and soon after her, her husband should be following into the waters of baptism! I’m super excited for that! This week, we’ve also been contacting a lot as usual and finding new investigators to teach. I’m seeing a bit more hope and success!

So, last Friday, Elder Kester and I went to the hospital Angeles because Kester wasn’t feeling good. Turns out that he had appendicitis. So the member doctor and I gave him a blessing at 11 pm, and they operated on him an hour later, and they took out his appendix. We were in the hospital til Sunday afternoon. But he’s still in recuperation now with his new companion, and he’s doing alright.

We had changes, Elder Kester went as a ‘’Traveling Assistant’’, and there’s actually now 4 Assistants in the mission, something new. I moved to Zone Leader 1 here in the same area, now with Elder Ledesma as my companion. This should be a fun/quick change. The last one flew out the window.

Re: La Pena de Bernal Pics Again

Peña de Bernal, Bernal, Querétaro

Bernal Peña stands majestically in the landscape
of the village of Bernal , Queretaro and is recognized
as the third monolith of the world's largest stone
after the Rock of Gibraltar in the Mediterranean Sea
Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

General Conference 2017 And The Year Mark!

This week went very well. I went to prepare my visa for renewal at immigration in Queretaro. They fixed a problem, and this week I should be getting my new visa for another year! Can’t believe I’ve reached the half way mark.

Along with that of course is the BIG TALK – CoNfErEnCe!!! Some super great talks. I felt that everyone who spoke invited us to repent, testified of God’s Plan, and asked us to practice Faith in God and Jesus Christ. They always purify the doctrine and prevent us from contaminating it. They stressed about resisting temptation, being worthy, etc. Our goal is to return to live with God for eternal life, and that is what truly matters. But to accomplish that we must exercise Faith and Repent. It was a great Conference!
